A tornado is a violently rotating column of air that is in contact with both the surface of the earth and a cumulonimbus cloud or, in rare cases, the base of a cumulus cloud.
If Los Angeles-based indie-pop band Fitz and the Tantrums were to be catogarized as a tornado they would be a F5 of undeniably catchy beats and full throttle energy.
The jazz inspired six-piece blew through Iron City Bham, packing out the venue and driving a nonstop party train through hit songs, and new grooves.
Fitz and the Tantrums’ mission was clear from the moment the band stepped on stage: “It’s all about getting sweaty and having fun with us tonight.”
How could they do otherwise? Fitz and the Tantrums exuded a magnetic presence through the hour-plus set, making them one of the most engaging acts I’ve ever seen.
Even after reading extensively about Fitz and the Tantrums’ blow-the-roof-off-this-venue attitude, I was still floored by the level of attention, and commitment to every tune. Touring incessantly on a collection of 20-something songs, each song still seemed like their favorite.
When it was all done and dusted all i could get out was "Wow!" And I'm guessing many others felt the same. Get more of Fitz & The Tantrums here. See the below video for my favorite Fitz & The Tanrum song.
