Disclaimer here. I've been listening to Colbie Caillat for about a couple years now. Her work continues to grow on me. So I was very happy to shoot her show, and now feature her on today's blog post. Here goes!
Colbie Marie Caillat (born in Newbury Park, California on May 28, 1985) is an American pop singer-songwriter and guitarist. She debuted in 2007 with her album Coco, which included hit singles “Bubbly”, “Realize”, and “The Little Things”. In 2008, she recorded a duet with Jason Mraz, “Lucky”, which won a Grammy. Caillat released her second album, Breakthrough, in August 2009. Breakthrough was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2010 Grammy Awards.
Caillat is every bit the Southern California performer. Laid back, happy. Her stage presence to her long, straight, dark-blond hair. Promoting her fifth album, “Gypsy Heart,” her low, melodic voice treated the Iron City Bham crowd to a full mix of her hits and some new songs in a set that lasted over an hour.
There’s no doubt the forthcoming album, due out Sept. 30, will be great. The songs are fresh and relevant, with hints of other genres – like country, folk and even a tad bit of rock. However, the songs that I believe got the biggest and most heartfelt reactions on Friday night were her current hits. Enjoy the images below, and check out the bonus video.
This was quite the bonus. I wish every human being in the world would listen to this song very carefully. Kudos to you Colbie Caillat. Great show!
